The Living Legacy of the Parks-Wilder Family
Client:International African American Museum x Google Arts & Culture
Category:Short Documentary

In collaboration with Visible Life, we produced a collection of documentary short films to support in-person and digital exhibitions at the International African American Museum. Our mission was to illuminate the compelling and historically significant stories of unique individuals, organizations, and landmarks in South Carolina.

Over the course of two weeks in Charleston County, we immersed ourselves in the community—learning about the lives, families, and traditions of all the remarkable people we encountered. This deep connection allowed us to approach our storytelling with genuine empathy and care, making the final films all the more meaningful.

This film focuses on the Parks-Wilder family—using photography as a medium to provide a candid look at their multigenerational history and legacy. Alongside their story, we explored broader themes like Gullah Geechee family connections, the Great Migration, and the preservation of culture.
